Bodies in Urban Spaces by Willi Dorner

Willi Dorner is an Austrian artist who squeezes human bodies into nooks and crannies for a project he did, called 'Bodies in Urban Spaces'. Groups of dancers, climbers and performer,s wearing brightly coloured clothes, run through the busy town and high streets and cram themselves into doorways and any gap they can find in public buildings or maybe even on stair ways. During a tour of Austria, England, France, Norway, Sweden, Finland and the US, Willi and his models have drawn attention to themselves from local police who have stopped quite a few performances for the fact that they though they were burglars or vandals. Here is some of his work...

I love this type of photography, the creativity of it, the positioning of the models all squished together and location photography. I like tasks that you have to really think about  and plan and this task allowed all these points to occur. I don't like that some of the positioning looks or is really dangerous but I guess it makes it more exciting and difficult-looking.

I am inspired by the first image that I have put up, it has given me the idea to have 3 or more models in a doorway, all stacked up but not right together. All of the pieces makes me want to go out and get a lot of colourful models and put them all together in different positions.

Here is also a link for some of his projects at Loughborough University...
