Mini Task

For the mini task, we all got told to write the alphabet down the side of a page and to put names of fun things and games for each letter. After we did this, the tutor put letters into a box and we had to put our hand in and pick a letter. This then, was our letter that we have to base our assignment on.
The letter that I picked out of the box, was 'I' and so I decided to use the theme of Interaction. I might use both of these in my work, or maybe just one.
My idea was to have a girl looking like she is talking on the phone (interaction).
Once we'd finished taking these images and edited them, we had to cut our image into the shape of our letter and that would be our final image for the mini task and the images were all shown on a slide show to the class at the end of the task.
I opened up my image in Photoshop and adjusted the levels and opened it up to be edited further.

I wrote I on the image and then I will rasterise it so that I can enlarge it.

I have enlarged my image and now I can 'magic wand' the 'I' and then invert it so that it will cut the image into an 'I'.

Here I have now inverted it and I will change the background colour so it blends and finishes the image. I need to click on the 'Layer 3' which is the checkered colourless background so I can fill it.

I have gone onto 'layer'- 'New Fill Layer'- 'Solid Colour', so I can now change the colour of the background.
Here is my background colour on my image now. Now I will clean up the edges of the letter because it is slightly jagged.
Here is my final image so that I've cleaned up the edges of the letter.

Over all, I believe that I did well on this mini task and it worked quite well. I could have edited the image more so it stood out better. If I was to re-do it again, I would use a different font because this letter 'I' was hard to edit when I enlarged it and I'm not too sure about it. I like the colour of the background I chose because it works well with the colour of the models t-shirt. However, I am happy with the outcome.
